When is the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary open?

We are currently closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 mandates. Know that the animals are being well cared for by our awesome keepers and improvements to the property continue. We wish you and your families good health and we’ll see you soon. For now, stay home. Stay safe.

Do you offer group rates?

Yes, for parties of 14 or more, the fee is $9 per person, paid together in one transaction. Children 2 and under are free. Please find more information and online booking here. If you have any questions, please email elizabethfincher.yrws@gmail.com.

Are the deer roaming loose within the sanctuary?

Following the Georgia Department of Natural Resources guidelines, the deer are contained in a safe, large, natural environment and not roaming freely within the sanctuary.

Can we feed the animals?

Please do not bring food or offer any of your food to the animals as they are all on diets that best support their current needs. There are designating areas where you may enjoy lunch or snacks. In the future we will offer the ability to feed the animals in the Petting Yard and during Animal Encounters.

May we pet the animals?

Animals located in the Petting Yard, Barn Yard and Bunny Yards may be pet. We ask that parents closely supervise their children and never leave them unattended. Please remember if you get bit, the animal will have to be euthanized. We hope you enjoy watching our animals and learning about them in a way that keeps everyone safe.
